what do you think would happen if Kili decided that since Mahal’s hands were tied, he should just go annoy every other Valar until they changed the system altogether?

*shrug* Dunno. Two major stumbling-blocks with the idea, though: 1. First Kili would have to find the other Valar. Manwe & Varda are up on top of Mt Taniquetil, Ulmo lives in the waters, Yavanna has her gardens, Lorien in… well, Lorien, and etc etc – they’re VERY spread out, all over the continent in fact.

And Kili is dead, stuck in the Halls of the Dwarven Dead, separate even from all other afterlives…

2. I doubt any of the other Valar would consider it. They’ve all seen what happens when one deliberately disobeys the plan of Eru Iluvatar, and they’ve all been loyal to the Song of Arda and Eru’s plan since the beginning (despite a few minor AULE hiccups).

That said, I do think that Kili’s powers of irritation might just be up to the task 🙂

I read the anon question about wifi in Valinor and thought of this head canon: In the Halls of Mandos, the elves learn about what happens from seeing Vaire’s tapestries. How fast do you think that she and her helpers make those? (And if she doesn’t have helpers, I’m not sure if she does or not, it would take even longer.) I imagine that there were be times when there wouldn’t be a new tapestry up for a while and that is the equivalent of TVs shows going on hiatus and breaks. (Part 1)

(Part 2) Like, they’re completely engrossed in the tapestry depicting their families and friends, eagerly scrolling down it to see what happens next, and being utterly disappointed to see that it ends on a cliffhanger or that something they didn’t see coming happens and they have to wait for Vaire and her helpers to finish the next one. (At this point, it’s not uncommon to hear elves yell and, um, ‘comment’ loudly on the events.) (Poor Namo.)

(Part 3) It’s even worse for the elves who are outside of/have left the Halls. They always have to wait longer to learn what happens. So they end up asking (read: interrogating) the newly reborn elves and arrivals for news.

BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Now to me this begs the question: which of the elves coughMAGLORcough write speculative fanfic and meta in-between ‘seasons’/tapestries?

poplitealqueen:

And somewhere in her fierce heart, a tiny tendril of compassion unfurled…

This is how I’ve always pictured Yavanna, with beautiful, deadly, and helpful plants in her hair, and fierce and strong as the earth itself.

You’ve inspired me with your head canons, and while this picture is a part of the Sansukh universe, I wanted you to have it.  It’s not terribly good, but I hope you like it!  *runs and hides forever*

**MISS POP’S REACTION**

OH MY GOD HER EYES THEY’RE SO GREEN WITH HINTS OF YELLOW, AND HER HAIR. SWATHED IN PLANTS AND FLOWERS AND POOFY AS A DANDELION CLOUD.

THE SCENT OF FRESHLY TURNED, WET EARTH CLINGS TO HER LIKE A PERFUME. YOU CAN BET HER HANDS ARE WEATHER WORN, WITH DIRT BENEATH THE NAILS AND THORN CUTS ACROSS THE DARK SKIN.
