Are there any roles in the podfic for an 18 year old American girl to try out for? ;_; I’d really like to try.

ABSOLUTELY. Try for as many roles as you want!

There is no age restriction or gender restriction for any role. A feminine voice or feminine-presenting voice does not restrict you from playing a masculine character or vice versa. Your accent, whatever it is, doesn’t restrict you from any role. You could be anyone!

Check out the FAQ at the Podfic Project blog here! It will answer all your questions. Good luck in your auditions, Nonnie! *hugs*

first off, sansukh is amazing, of course. i could give so much praise for everything you’ve done with it, with dwarves, with dwarf culture, etc. BUT that would take all day and i’ve got a question to get to (sorry. i still love it <3 but sorry) so i seem to have developed a bit of an infatuation with dori recently. you've often got little, i guess you could call them side-pairings, those little asides with romances mentioned but not integral to the story. anything planned for dori?

First – thank you, I’m so happy you’re enjoying the fic and all the worldbuilding and culture stuff! It’s a lot of work, but I do love it, and it’s just so lovely to hear that.

Ah, I’m really really sorry to disappoint you, Nonnie, but it’s mentioned a few times in the fic that my version of Dori is aro-ace. He’s an important Dwarf, Guildmaster and Quartemaster of Erebor, and he mothers half the mountain – and terrifies the rest, because he’s still one of the strongest Dwarves. He’s not interested in the slightest in romance.

(to the eternal disappointment of most of Erebor, because Dori is also Mr Hottie TA 3019.)

Hi, I love Sansûkh and it’s gotten me thinking about, well, mixed-race children. I think in the area of Elves we might have an answer, if the child chooses mortality they got to their mortal side’s fate. So what about half-Dwarf children? What do you think?

Oh boy, this is a puzzler.

So, I am not sure, is the short answer. But I like that theory! Ah, Eru bless the Peredhil, they solve so many problems! 🙂

So, yeah – I am totally guessing here, but I think they’d probably be able to choose the same way Elrond and Elros and Arwen and the twins did/do. I suppose that if a half-elven, half-dwarven child were raised by Elves, they would be more likely to adopt an Elven mindset and identify with their Elven heritage more closely than with their Dwarven side. And therefore they’d choose the Elven allotted span/place in the Halls of Mandos (and possible? re-embodiment) over a place in the Dwarven Afterlife, and vice versa.

*shrugs helplessly* IDK!

Operation Broadbeam Stew is a total success! Yay! Only a few minor setbacks (Dumplings triple in size. Who knew?) and I think I nailed it in one try. I’m really surprised. Now to write out the instructions so I can do it again! Would you like the recipe, Dets? It’s a little time consuming (10 hours! yikes!) but it’s really good according to my (very picky) family.

YES YES YES PLEASE

Oh my HOLY HECK. I cannot wait!!!

You are amazing, I can’t believe it! 10 hours!!! I am gobsmacked and so, so impressed. Barur Stonebelly tips his moustache to you forever and ever!
