So, I kept seeing the podfic posts on my dash, and I was getting really annoyed and about to blacklist it BUT THEN I started loving it and I really REALLY wanted to try out for something (like Hrera because holy crap I love her so freaking much!!!). But I also remembered my voice is kind of squeaky when I get excited or nervous, and I don’t really have acting ability :( But everyone sounds so amazing! Especially your Sam. He’s everything I imagined Sam would sound like!

Try out, try out! A range of different voices is wonderful. And a higher voice… hmm, an Elf? A child, perhaps? Wee Thorin Dwalinul is still up for grabs

I’m really sorry if we are annoying – it’s all very exciting and new right now. To anybody who is getting irritated: my apologies, and again, my tag for blacklisting is

THE EPIC SANSUKH PODFIC PROJECT (or ‘Sansukh Podfic’)

I’m glad you’re enjoying all the shenanigans! This is a wonderful bunch of people. And we’ll only be adding more! CAST OF FREAKIN THOUSANDS OMG.

Ok two things: 1. I was listening to music from the twenties and now I have the beautiful thought of: Dwarves as rum-runners during prohibition. This is a concept I thought you’d appreciate. 2. Are there any plans to do the second rounds of casting for the Sansukh podfic in the next few months? I’d certainly like to try out whenever that happens.

HNNNNGH YES.

(sudden Lackadaisy feels, omfg)

Also – I’m not actually involved upon the production side of the podfic! We have the amazeriffic fuckthisimgoingtoerebor and heuristicdevice to thank for that. So, keep an eye on the sansukhpodfic site! That’s where any and all announcements pertaining to auditions will be posted!

I know you must think about this since you’re the one doing the writing (props for sticking with it, I have kids, I know what that first year is like!) but when I finished my crying fit after listening to you sing the Iron Hills Soldiers’ Song (you have a lovely voice) I was struck by the magnitude of what you’ve done. The huge outpouring of creativity that Sansukh has generated among its readers is staggering. It’s a real testament to the quality of your work. Thank you and keep it up!

Oh, Nonnie. Thank you so very, very much. I’m thrilled you like the song!

It’s strange – I was only saying this yesterday, actually. I know absolutely NOBODY from fandom in my RL. It’s all work, family, work, yadda. Fandom and fanfiction has always been such a solitary hobby of mine.

And then, this fic. Writing Sansukh has been such a joy to me for many reasons, but one of the biggest has been making friends here on tumblr and elsewhere, through all the beautiful art, stories, songs, gifsets, playlists, GOD. So many things. The masterpost these days is ASTOUNDING, it’s just so long: full of such talent and hard work and spectacular passion. And now, thanks to the spectacularly amazing fuckthisimgoingtoerebor and heuristicdevice – the Epic Sansukh Podfic Project.

I am constantly in awe, so grateful that I can’t speak. I am so, so humbled.

Okay, I’m done gushing (again). 😉

Floored me for a second when I remembered how far Sansukh!Thorin’s come, y’know? Even though he’s dead he’s grown so much (guess there wasn’t a lot of time to do much else ha). Then it just gets me excited at the idea of Bilbo getting to more know about THIS Thorin, who’s become so much more than he was. But Thorin’s perceptiveness about Bilbo’s secret-keeping kinda made my heart hurt :< Oh how the turned tables (;D)

Yeah, these turns have definitely tabled. 😉

Thorin has grown SO much. It reaaaaally hasn’t been easy (and it STILL won’t be, because these things do not just disappear – we just become better at managing them). He’s lucky that he has such wholehearted support, really.

Poor Bilbo. Whereas Thorin has a lot of time and a lot of support, Bilbo is very solitary – by choice, certainly, but it means he hasn’t really dealt with all this heavy stuff. EVER. He’s locked it all away in his heart, safe as Rings, and gets very huffish and cross whenever anybody gets too near to the truth.

bc he is a suspicious secretive snappish old duffer

Still, now the turns have well and TRULY tabled. Bilbo is now the observer, whereas that was Thorin’s role for so long. Thorin has been through this massive learning journey already, and Bilbo is only beginning.

Just wanted to let you know that through the (many, MANY) tears reading the latest chapter, I have never loved Dain more than you made me love him in that last fight. That’s worth the 20 minutes of broken sobbing and much, much more. Being this heartbroken over a character (especially one we go in knowing is going to die) means you brought that character to breath-taking life, and gave us as much to love as to mourn. Tl;dr you crumpled my heart right up and I sincerely thank you for it. <3

*hugs you very very tightly*

Thank you SO MUCH. Seriously.

I haven’t made a secret of how much I adore Dain, and so to hear that Ch35 made you love him and that I brought him to life for you just utterly made my night.

*hugs you again*

Uh.

You may need to pry me off with a crowbar.
